Ultrafine Wires

Goodfellow is excited to announce the launch of our exclusive range of ultrafine wires. The introduction of these materials has come about to meet the demand for miniaturisation that is ever-increasing across different industry sectors.

The new portfolio of Goodfellow products incorporates a variety of different metal bases such as Copper and Nickel, several precious metals (including Gold, Silver, Platinum) and alloys (such as Iron based alloys) with a continuous glass insulation coating, all with a diameter less than 1μm. The glass insulation provides high electrical strength, wide operating temperature (from -100°C to 400°C), chemical inertness, radiation and pressure resistance.

Goodfellow has collaborated with Eliri with the intention of offering custom-made ultrafine insulated wires and ultrafine bare wires. Alongside the off-the-shelf range, we plan to facilitate any research or industrial project.

These ultrafine wires can be implemented in several applications, for instance:

• biological sensors and medical devices
• aerospace and aviation electrical devices and sensors
• applications where chemical inertness is required, such as underwater sensing
• inductive converters and converters measuring non-electrical quantities such as temperature, pressure, speed, force, mass, etc.
